Holden Special Vehicles have officially unveiled Australia's true world-beater, the HSV W427.
The W427, which had the covers taken off earlier this year at the Melbourne Motorshow in 'showcar’ format, is now in production. Sales of the seven litre 375kW 'Supercar’ have begun in Australia.

of the Year People's Choice award, the largest automotive popularity
survey this country has ever conducted. Voters chose from 48 new cars
nominated as the top four in 12 major consumer categories by drive Car
of the Year judges. Categories include small car under $20,000, large
car, luxury and prestige car over $60,000 and best 4WD under $40,000.
Voters gave the SS-V sports sedan, the performance pinnacle of Holden's
VE Commodore range launched in August 2006, an overwhelming thumbs-up.

Holden's all-new Calais V V8 has won News Ltd's 2006 Car of the Year award, the highest motoring accolade from Australia's largest print media organisation. The topline VE Commodore model scored 79 out of a possible 80 points from the eight News Ltd motoring writers and was 20 points ahead of its nearest challenger. Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Denny Mooney, said the award was particularly important for the recognition it gave Holden's entire workforce.
